Recession-Proof Real Estate: SouthPoint on Richland Chambers Lake, TX Scores With Buyers
Texas Land and Lakes kicked off sales of its newest lakefront community with a celebration on Saturday, May 22. And by the end of the day, 25 homesites at SouthPoint on Richland Chambers Lake were under contract.
“A lot of people thought we were crazy to build this lakefront property in the middle of a recession,” said Marcus Smith, president of Texas Land and Lakes. ”But we knew we had a winner, and our opening sales event proved it. Are we happy? You bet!”
SouthPoint on Richland Chambers Lake is the first lakefront development to come on the market in the DFW area in 5 years. This gated community is located one hour from Dallas on the state’s third largest lake. It offers deep dockable waterfronts, excellent fishing and boating, and spectacular lake views.
Texas Land and Lakes hosted more than 100 people from the Dallas-Fort Worth area at the May open house. “It was perfect lake weather—hot and sunny,” said sales manager Paul Blight. “And it turned out to be a real family event. We had great food from Eddie Deen’s. Kids wore themselves out with a clown, a balloon artist and a bounce house. And local radio station KVRF “The Ranch” did a live broadcast right on the water.”
That family event quickly turned into a successful sales event for one of the state’s top lakefront property developers. By late afternoon, buyers had snapped up 25 lake access properties at budget-friendly prices.
When asked about future prospects for SouthPoint on Richland Chambers Lake, Smith just smiled. “We’re going to have a sellout,” he promised. “And it’s going to happen sooner than we thought.”
What advice would he give would-be buyers about this Texas lake property? “Three words: Get here fast!”
